Nov. 1, 2009 at 9:00 AM –  Messa in Italiano la Prima Domenica di Ogni Mese
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church is continuing to have an Italian Mass on the first Sunday of each month at 9:00 AM. It is a great opportunity to practice the Italian language and a challenge to keep up with Fr. Tim's Italian. Handouts include both Italian and English prayers, so it's easy to follow. There will be a reception in the Parish Hall immediately following the Mass.

Nov. 8, 2009 at 2:15 PM –  Smaldone: The untold story of an American Crime Family
The heritage month program for Il Circolo Italiano will feature guest presenter Dick Kreck, a Denver author, who will speak about his book Smaldone: The untold story of an American crime family. The program will be held on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 at 2:15 PM at 1601 Reed Street in Lakewood, CO. Admission for members is free, for non-members, $5.00. After the presentation, join Il Circolor Italiano for conversation and a light dinner. Books will be available for sale and signing. RSVP essential. Nov. 8, 2009 at 3:30 PM –  Seconda Domenica
The Italian community and italophiles are invited to to share in another chapter of Our Lady of Mount Carmel's church history with its Seconda Domenica cultural, fellowship, and fundraiser events for the church. Each Seconda Domenica event will include a distinct area of Italian culture, the showing of an Italian film with English subtitles. Dr. Vincent Piturro from CU Denver has graciously donated his time and expertise to critique the award winning Italian films from various periods that will be shown.

Doors will open at 3:30 till 4:00 p.m. The admission charge of $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students provides viewing of the film, fellowship, some food - ³Bagna Cauda² (an Italian fondu appetizer) and a "bevanda" - and Dr. Piturro's critique of the film.Tickets will be sold at the door will be sold untill 4:00 PM. Advanced ticket sales will be available on the first Sunday of the month at all scheduled mass times. Contact Anne Ripepi, the Event Coordinator, at 303.922.2002 for more information.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and Sons of Italy Denver Lodge 2075 presents "Bella Notte", starting at 6:30 PM with a cash bar and dinner at 7:00, with dancing to follow. The cost is $30 per person. Dec. 2, 2009 at 5:00 PM –  The first Terzina of the Divine Comedy: The Poem in Three Lines
On Wednesday, Dec. 2nd, at 5:00 PM, the French and Italian Department at CU Boulder will present a lecture titled The first Terzina of the Divine Comedy: The Poem in Three Lines. The lecture being presented by Paolo Cherchi, Professor Emeritus, the University of Chicago and University of Ferrara, will be held in the Humanities Building, room #250.
